What Questions Should You Ask The Dog Owner If You Get Bit By A Dog?

If you are involved in the unfortunate situation of being bit by a dog, ask the dog’s owner, if they are available, if the dog has ever bitten somebody before. The owner may or may not answer this question. If the owner is aware of the law, they may not respond to that questions, because if the dog has bitten before, it could prove that the dog has vicious propensity.  If you are the victim of a dog bite, you will want to recover money for your injury.  Other than financial repercussions, you also need to know if the dog has received it’s Rabies shots.  If you’re bitten badly and you receive medical treatment, the doctors will need to know the answer to that question to know how to treat you.

If the doctors can not determine that the dog has been vaccinated for Rabies, then you may have to undergo the treatment for Rabies to make sure that you are protected from the disease.  This treatment is not pleasant, so it is important to learn about the current status of the dog and its shots.
